CyberMan was a new line of humanoid helper bots that was released from the super tech company Starlight.
He came in many different styles: from the rough utilitarian model, to the smooth and rounded artistic, to the sleek modern and so on.
None of this really mattered much because the love of your life, the only thing grounding you to this world died…suddenly. So you couldn’t focus on all the new techy gadgets getting released this year while deep in mourning. In fact you barely could keep up with what was going on in your own life.
Leading you to, repeatedly, ghosting family. Half on accident and half on purpose. It was hard.
“It can help with the laundry, dishes, he can even grocery shop if you input your desired things on the app!” Your sister-in-law exclaimed as you stared at the 6 foot tall box with the image of the CyberMan on the front, dutifully caring for a child to showcase how well it works in the home.
As your lack of response she deflates a little, her eyes shifting to the side.
“I figured you could use the extra set of hands. We’re worried about you…”
That was 2 months ago.
The thing works, you admit. It’s the only thing really keeping you from trying to crawl into your lover’s grave by way of starvation or careless accidents. The fact it did its job of taking care of you so well infuriated you some. And he was always willing to help or be by your side.
You weren’t alone anymore and the annoyance of his constant lingering presence consequently distracted you from the depression.
