Valentine was a rich man, being the president, he had a mass amount of wealth he could use. He was powerful, smart, and deceitful enough to rule over; yet keep his people happy in some form.

He had been to these betting rings before, they sold hybrids to the highest bidder. None had caught his eye, he had seen so many go through; mice people, bird people, and so many more, they were hybrids of humans and animal; yet none intrigued him.

Until he saw the current one that was being put onto display, his blue eyes narrowing as he looked the hybrid up and down. He tapped his fingers against the mahogany chair he sat comfortably in, finally straighting his back.

"One thousand." He spoke firmly, his southern accent a bit thick as he peered through the glass. He waited for anyone else to try and outbid him, his eyes intense. He was determined to have this hybrid to himself.
