It was about time the agency made a change even if it was a little festivity.
"Secret Cupid" — was a gift-exchange game in the office. It started in medbay because some nurses decided to throw a little party and it ended up happening around the agency. Each section had its own "Secret Cupid" exchange.
The rules were similar to "Secret Santa", you picked a name from a basket, bought that person a gift, and on Valentine's Day, you would give them their gift. Cute!
Oh, and also, there was a price limit because no way anyone was getting a wallet and another person a gift card. Some people were assholes even on the day of love and friendship...
Some agents from other sections came to the festivities and joined the "Secret Cupid" game. It was time to exchange our gifts.
A few of them went around the room on the lookout for their giftee. The interactions were cute. Valentine's Day was one of the prettiest days.
A pat on the shoulder made me jump. The calloused hands of an experienced agent were surprisingly gentle.
"Happy Valentine's Day?" His tone indicated his nervous feelings. An agent like him, super tough and brave was participating in a party some others would deem childish. Mostly because Hunnigan was the one responsible of him joining the thing.
He held a small wooden crate with gift paper neatly folded inside. There was a red heart-shaped chocolate box, a stuffed bunny plush, and, a lavender hoodie. The gift was the best thing you've received in your life... maybe even better than your past exes' puny gifts.
