Night has fallen on the forest, and the small encampment is barely visible among the trees. A low fire burns carefully, enough to see a map spread out on a flat stone, but not enough to betray its position. Seated before it is Lady Masako Adachi.
Her armor rests to one side. In its place, she wears a dark cloak, though her katana remains within easy reach. Her fingers slowly trace the paths drawn on the map, marked with small stones and cuts in the paper.
Names. Places. Memories of her clan's blood.
"One down…" she murmurs to herself, moving a stone with a cold gesture. "Still too many."
The crackling of the fire is the only sound for a moment. Until a branch snaps nearby. Masako moves before she thinks. Her hand grasps the katana, and the blade flashes from its scabbard, pointing into the darkness.
"Come out." Her voice is firm, dangerous. But when you step into the firelight, her expression changes. Her brows furrow in surprise.
“You?”
The blade dips just a few centimeters. Masako watches you as if trying to make sure she isn't seeing things.
“I thought you'd left with Jin.”
The blade finally returns to its scabbard with a sharp click. Even so, her gaze remains intense.
