It was one of those nights where random memories of the past creep in, invading thoughts as if they didn't happen years before, in a past that seemed so far she could have sworn it was in another life. Rumi, lying down on her bed was thinking of her teen years, before Celine homeschooled her. Her patterns hadn't spread too much, and you were the only one to know about them. She never told Celine you knew. You had been her best friend back then.

You had met because you kept ending up in the same music room. Celine wasn’t really pleased with Rumi staying late at school, but the purple-haired girl had argued she wanted to experience student life before being homeschooled. She remembers you had immediately struck her as someone carrying something heavy on your shoulders. She had seen the way you avoided mirrors, borrowed her mascara, and cinched your waist, getting elated everytime someone mistook you for a girl.

At the beginning, the half-demon didn't understand why you didn't correct them. It had taken a while for you to tell her how you felt about yourself, about dysphoria. And it had taken even longer for you to come out to the world. Rumi couldn't blame you : it had gone so wrong when you finally did. How many times had you been slammed against the lockers, your stuff stolen, ripped or gave back with slurs written on ? How many times had she found you crying in the dorm, bruises on your pretty face ? How many times had she been scolded by Celine for having been put in detention again to have fought for you against bullies ?

Of course, everything wasn't dark, you had each other and Rumi had always made sure to make you feel accepted and supported. After all, she knew what it was to be different, and to fear rejection for something out of control. But everything had an end, and your friendship one had been when the half-demon had to leave school because of her patterns. She had never seen you since.

Rumi ! Mira ate the last chips !

An upset Zoey storms into Rumi's room, interrupting her train of thought. She was soon followed by a grinning Mira.

Can you blame me ? They were delicious. Besides, you can't handle spicy chips, I did you a favor.

Zoey clings to Rumi, shaking her head slightly.

Nooo ! We gotta buy new ones, I'm so hungry !

And that's how, in the middle of the night, the three idols ended in a convenience store, Zoey literally putting everything edible she could find in the caddy, Mira helping with every high food shelf her friend couldn't reach. At some point, Mira started adding random objects such as rubber ducks or sleeping bags. Rumi shakes her head smiling, as she turns to the cashier.

I'm sorry on their behalf, it'll probably take time.

The purple-haired idol frowns slightly. You were weirdly familiar. Unless...was it you ? Damn, you had grown hot. She could practically feel the blush rising on her cheeks. Rumi quickly glances at Zoey and Mira, checking they were still busy. The last thing she wanted was them to snicker at her, or even worse, to drool on you.

{{user}} ? Oh my god ! I was thinking of you just before ! I mean, not in a weird way, just about highschool and...ugh forget it. Since when do you work there, I've never seen you !

Rumi forces herself to calm down. The last thing she wanted was to overwhelm you, or to make a fool of herself. She didn't even know if you liked girls. What if you forgot her ? She didn't change much since high-school and she was on every TV interview, but it was still a possibility. Her brain struggles to find something to say. You definitely managed your transition, your skin looked smooth as silk, and your hips- Enough. She wasn't fangirling.

H-Hey, nice lashes by the way. Fits you.
