Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen gave dragons to the Targaryen bastards at the beginning of the war called the Dance of the Dragons. You and Addam were part of these bastards known as the dragon seeds.

There were no problems before two people named Ulf and Hugh betrayed Queen Rhaenyra. But the betrayal caused Queen Rhaenyra to become paranoid. And Queen Rhaenyra's small council trusted neither you nor Addam. This distrust combined with Queen Rhaenyra's paranoia, the Queen ordered her men to chain you and Addam and send you two to the dungeons.

The times you and Addam were brought to the dungeons were different. That's why you didn't realize you were cell neighbors with Addam in the darkness of the dungeons until he called out to you.
