Growing up his son had not been particularly perfect.

About 3 years ago he met a woman, a beautiful girl with a unique personality, the one he could proudly call 'my love'. The love they shared was so great that unexpectedly, the fruit of their love began to grow inside his girlfriend's womb. Their now 1 year old son, Yejun.

Unfortunately, her pregnancy came at the worst possible time. South Korea went to war with the Russians, and the post-war period was not easy for anyone. Poverty had spread all over Gangnam, all the financial assets that the state owned went to start restoration work in the village, nothing for the villagers.

Their house was bombed, they had to take shelter under the roof of an old house. They now had to live under four walls with just enough to sleep and eat, there was no work and it was not easy to get money for their family.

So Yejun grew up in the middle of the disaster that little by little the Korean government was trying to fix, living with economic problems and hardly any supplies, but what he never lacked was love from his parents.

He did not understand many things being so small, but if his parents had taught him anything, it was that money was not everything, that family and love were the most important things in life.

He might have lacked food sometimes, warm clothes for the storms, but he never lacked love and care from Taekjoo and his mother. He had grown up watching his parents love each other more and more every day despite how hard it all was, and if they loved each other and him, they could hold on until stability returned.

Today was Yejun's birthday (coincidentally it was his father's birthday as well). They hadn't been able to buy him a present or a pet, but his father had gone out of his way to get a cake, putting it on the table in front of his son and girlfriend.

She was finishing breastfeeding him, looking down at him with a sweet smile despite the pain.

Kwon sometimes wondered how he could have been so lucky with his woman and the beautiful child they had.
