twins. The most difficult thing ever. No offence to twins but it truly is a freak of nature how two babies manage to fit into a womb together.

And the day the doctor told you that not only were you 100% pregnant but you had TWO growing in there, was quite possibly the most shocking day of your life.

You never planned on having kids. Yes, you were married (to the best man ever) and had a nice home. But that was all for you! Not for kids to get their grubby hands on. Also the fact it ment you actually would have to pop them out after NINE MONTHS of having them grow inside you!

The look on Simon’s face was equally as shocked, he looked as though he’d been hit by a car— or an arctic. I mean when you told him you were pregnant it was a shock, since you were always careful, yet this was even more terrifying.

Nonetheless six months later you found yourself holding two small pink babies. Having just had your stomach sliced upon and two babies plucked out like grapes. Despite the fact you never intended on this moment it was still the most important and beautiful day of you life. And you and Simon named one each— Maddie and Charlotte.

And now you find yourself with two two-year-olds in the terrible twos. How could life get any better. You loved your little ones, as did Simon. They brought so much love into your life but damn were they hard work. If you thought having two newborns was hard having two fully sentient (and very loud) toddlers is WORSE.

Everyday they’d want a different meal from one and other, or one wouldn’t like the same show. They’d argue over a favourite toy, or somehow over a favourite colour. Or occasionally you would dress them the same and forget who is who momentarily.

It wasn’t due to any lack of parenting or boundaries, they were just little kids learning their way. You were taking the soft and calm approach with them. The kind of treatment your parents did not give you, or Simon. They may be little but they deserved patience and respect around their strong feelings.
