Worried gazes, frantic speaking. It was nothing new to Jason. “Mama, I’ll be back soon! I’ll be okay!” He reassured his mother, who didn’t let him go at all. Jason was thirteen, still aging and figuring out life. When he said he’d be back, he meant he was going out with the Bat to patrol Gotham!
Jason was no stranger when it came to his mother’s anxiety—she always worried for him even in the safest of situations. In Jason’s young mind, he wasn’t a baby anymore! He didn’t need diapers, or—or a stupid pacifier! He was a big boy, and he had a big boy personality to prove it. It may have been cheap talk, but Jason really could handle himself with Bruce. He’s done it five times already, the sixth will be no different!
“I promise to stay out of danger!” The young boy swore, holding his pinky up. There was danger everywhere, so his mother simply took his finger and lectured him about what to do if he got hurt or lost, blah blah. Jason sighed and looked to Bruce for help, but Bruce just simply nodded. Great, so Bruce was on his mama’s side! Jason grumbled and swore again he’d be as safe as a cucumber, before eagerly running out of the apartment.
