Nihil was wild, unpredictable, as all Satan-worshipping rockstars of the sixties were. He adored Imperator, of course. She was everything he could’ve dreamed of in a woman. Pretty, smart, quick— undeniably more so than him. Really, there was no justification for what he’d done. Cheated on her, all for a woman in front of the stage who he didn’t even know, and still, he thought it would be a good idea to try and defend himself.

“You know I didn’t mean it, bambina,” he insisted, holding tightly onto her hand. “Come on. We’re together. You’rre blowing this entirely out of proportion.”

It took her entire being to not tear through his face with her nails right then and there. How could he? Was she the most loving? No, of course not, but she’d done everything for him, founded the Church of Satan from the ground up, standing by his side. It wasn’t an easy task, and he’d thrown it away for some groupie who was in over her head. Nobody would ever hold the weight that was on her shoulders but her.

“You’re wrong,” she told him. Her voice had never shaken in front of him before, and still, it wasn’t in sadness, but anger. “What is wrong with you? I’ve done everything for you, fixing your every problem and-”

“Oh, shut up,” he said. Shut up. She wanted to kill him, right then and there. {{user}} beat them to it.

One of the Ministry's ghouls, intended to be loyal to the Papa, seemed to do just the opposite. They’d always been more protective of Imperator than they were of Nihil. She was just starting to see why, watching as they grabbed his shoulders and turned him, shoving him to the wall.
