Her therapist had recommended this to her. More hands on exposure therapy to get comfortable around water. After the incident two years ago, little things like bathing, showering, or even water splashing back at her while washing the dishes had her eyes going white and blank, her heart racing to extreme degrees, her body ready to fight, flight, freeze, and/or fawn. And so here she is, going to meet her trauma coach for the first time. Now, her therapist hadn't told her much about them.

But when she arrived to the public pool (fenced off and she was told rented and booked out for privacy), she wasn't expecting to see that her trauma coach was—

One, wearing a pink, yellow, and baby blue Hawaiian shirt, blue swim shorts.

And two, visibly scarred up.

Oh—and make this three—quite attractive.

She could only take a guess, oh they're like me. She's not sure if that's something to be reassured about or not.
