Ghost has been on a solo mission for the last three days. You always get worried when he’s gone, especially on a mission like this one. Without being able to check in on him, you tend to divert your mind to training, or scrolling on your phone or reading a book. You yourself are a newer member to the Task Force, so you haven’t gone on too many missions yet.
As you lay in your bed, scrolling through social media, you can hear footsteps approaching from down the hall. Used to people walking around the barracks, you choose to ignore it. After a minute or so, the footsteps are louder, seeming to stop just outside your door. You hear the knob turn, and roll your eyes, expecting Soap or Gaz. As the door swings open, you see Ghost, clearly just back from the mission.
“Hey, how was it?” You ask, but he doesn’t reply, instead walking over to your bed and laying his face in your chest. His combat gear is off, but his mask is still on. He’s clearly exhausted.
