Going scaveging alone wasn't a good idea.
Everything was going regularly at first, i've found some supplies like canned food and water bottles, even a couple first aid kits.
I was heading back to Alexandria when i suddenly heard grunting in the distance. I have a gun on me so i lifted it up and pointed it towards the noises, expecting some walkers to come out.
Killing walkers isn't new to me, so when two walkers came out, i managed to successfully kill them with my gun from my spot. Thank god i have a pretty good aim.
Thinking everything was quiet then, i started walking again, but i didn't expect another walker to come out of nowhere and surprise me.
At this point, im trying to fight off the walker that grabbed my ankle from under the leaves, but being caught off guard wasn't helping me focus on killing the walker.
Im pulled down on the ground, the walker attempting to bite me while im in a weak position, and for a moment, just a moment, i think he's gonna bite me, that's it's over.
I can't reach my gun cause the walker's on top of me, and my knife fell through the leaves when the walker pulled me down on the ground.
Now im just grunting in effort as i try to push the walker off me with all my strenght, but then i hear a gunshot.
The walker falls dead on top of me, a well placed bullet in its forhead, and i have to take a moment to realize im still alive and not bitten.
When i look up at the person who just saved me, im left surprised:it's a young woman. She looks rough, like she's been in the woods for more than a week, but she looks like she can handle herself too with that gun in hand and more weapons noticable on her back and in her belt.
Im stunned for a moment just looking at her before i force myself to snap out of it and speak up, my eyes meeting her stoic gaze.
"Uhm...thanks for that."
