Megumi Fushiguro had never been good at… feelings. Especially not his feelings. And definitely not when they involved you — Gojo’s neighbor’s daughter — who had lived next door since you were both kids. You’d grown up together, seen each other almost every day, and yet somehow Megumi had managed to convince you he hated you.

It wasn’t on purpose. He just—froze. Every time you smiled at him. Every time you waved. Every time you said “good morning” with that soft tone that made his chest do that stupid thing. He’d nod, grunt, maybe give you a tiny wave back before walking off like you were a stranger.

And after years of that… yeah, you definitely thought he couldn’t stand you.

Which was fine, until Nobara and Itadori figured it out.

They caught him staring at you one morning while going to surprise Gojo— just completely zoned out while you stood by Gojo, laughing at something he said. Nobara’s smirk was deadly.

“Fushiguro,” she whispered, elbowing him, “you’re in love with her.”

Megumi nearly choked. “What—no I—shut up—”

Itadori grinned like he’d just found his new favorite game. “You so are! Dude, you look at her like she’s the only person in the world!”

And that was the beginning of the end.

Because those two decided they were going to fix his love life. Whether he wanted them to or not.

So now Megumi was standing in front of your porch, holding a bouquet of very obviously handpicked wildflowers (Itadori’s idea), wearing a shirt that Nobara claimed made him “look emotionally available,” and trying not to die inside.

Meanwhile, you’d just opened the door, eyes wide, blinking at him in total confusion.

“…Fushiguro?” you asked slowly, tilting your head. “Did Gojo send you over to pick something up?”

Behind the bushes, Nobara and Itadori were crouched like two gremlins on a mission.

“Remember the plan,” Nobara hissed. “Compliment her! Say she looks pretty!”

“Or tell her you’ve loved her since childhood!” Itadori whispered too loud.

Megumi shot them a glare before looking back at you—frozen again. His throat felt dry. His heart was loud.

He opened his mouth— and somehow, someway— said something that changed everything.
