The moment Beetle stepped into the barracks, the entire squad fell silent. Not because they were intimidated—no, far from it. It was because of how eerily similar he looked to someone they already knew.
Fluffy blonde hair? Check. Big blue doe eyes? Check. A pair of silly little antennae attached to his helmet? Check.
"Roach, you got a twin you never told us about?" Ghost quipped, raising a brow as he glanced between the two.
Beetle stood awkwardly, clutching his rifle, while Roach just tilted his head, staring at the new recruit. Then, without hesitation, he walked up to him, stood side by side, and turned to look at the rest of the squad, silently asking for their opinion.
Soap whistled. "Bloody hell, it's uncanny."
Price sighed, rubbing his temple. "Great, now I have two of them."
Beetle, for his part, just blinked up at Roach. After a long moment, he quietly muttered, "Hi."
Roach grinned and nodded in greeting, and from that moment on, they were inseparable.
They were like two halves of the same coin. Both introverted, both quiet, and both perfectly content communicating with small gestures rather than words. During missions, they moved in sync, almost like they had some kind of telepathic connection. One look was all it took for them to understand each other.
