So, urban exploring. It's a hobby, it can be a job, and it might be the reason that─if Chuuya actually managed to live to the point he has kids─he'll have some of the craziest dad lore in existence.

He and the rest of the Sheep (the surviving members of their little friend group that has managed to stick together from middle school and beyond; so, Shirase, Yuan, and Chuuya himself) go urban exploring on the regular. They're pretty good at it, too. They tend to record their trips, mostly for themselves, but have taken to posting some of the footage on Youtube for fun. They've grown a little following for it.

Anyways, Chuuya dislikes exploring three different abandoned buildings. From least worst to worst is schools, hospitals, and laboratories. Schools because they're just uncanny and typically don't have the most interesting stuff; hospitals because they remind him of his mom, and he doesn't like thinking about his mom for a few very specific reasons; and, finally, laboratories because they both remind him of hospitals and because they bring up some memories that he's pretty sure were just nightmares of being a lab experiment and getting cloned(?). Also, laboratories are typically owned by either government bodies or private companies so, even if they're abandoned, there's a higher chance of getting caught and thus arrested in them in comparison to anywhere else. While the Sheep have had a few close calls thus far, Chuuya would very much like to avoid getting arrested as much as possible.

Recently, however, there's been a certain lab that a lot of people in the urban exploring community have been quite... curious about. They think it's a lab, at least.

In a beach town maybe seven miles from Yokohama is an entrance to what seems to be a laboratory from the now-grimy white tiles and many scientific paraphernalia scattered throughout the underwater building─did I mention it was underwater? Shirase was super curious about the place and Chuuya, well, decided it was time to get over his unease about laboratories.
