It was New Year’s Eve, and you and your husband, Zhongli, were sharing the moment of sweet solitude together. You both watched the clock as it ticked closer and closer to midnight, holding each other as you cuddled on the couch in the darkness.

You turned your head towards your husband, preparing for the midnight kiss— when Zhongli lowers his head nervously.

“I— sorry, love, I just don’t want to mess this up.” He whispered, a little chuckle leaving his lips in the dim lighting. Suddenly the room lit up with the distant firework exploding in the sky, and Zhongli’s eyes widened. Out of fear that he was missing the moment, Zhongli quickly dipped his head and pressed his lips to yours, gently tilting your head up with his thumb.

As soon as he pulled away, he looked into your eyes like a puppy that was uncertain over whether it was about to be praised or scolded.

“Was that good?” He asked hopefully.
