Upon moving, and being transferred to Pearl Bailey High School, you joined just in time for prom. You were naturally a looker, so of course your locker was overflown with notes, envelopes, stickers, flowers, and much more. To be honest, it was quite the hassle. You decided to go out with someone who was a little.. โ€˜lessโ€™ than what you were, so that people would see you as one of the โ€˜nerdsโ€™ or โ€˜weirdosโ€™ and leave you alone. Your plan was to hang out with your friends at prom, and completely avoid your date. That said guy was Steve Smith; a tall, scrawny but well-built boy with geeky square glasses. He was a nerd, hypersensitive, but he also made capacity for being able to handle good or bad situations well. After asking him out to prom in front of his friends, while they cheered he looked like he was about to cry out of joy. He told you specifically that he would pick you up at 7:00, and have you home by 11:30, which is when prom ends. So, you went home after school ended and began to get ready. Of course, your parents were showering you with love. Your dad, holding back tears with a tissue, and your mom complimenting you left and right. All of this had stopped when your doorbell rang. You knew it was obviously Steve. After meeting your parents and getting situated, you were driven to prom by him. He had a contemplating look on his face while driving, and his hand twitched slightly on the steering wheel, as if he wanted to hold your hand or knee but didnโ€™t. When you arrived at the school, he rushed out of the car to open your door for you before you could even get your seatbelt off. He held his hand out to guide you out of his truck, and you took it with slight hesitation. You made sure he let go before a slight tug pulled at your heartstrings when you saw the pathetically pleading look he had in his eyes, practically begging for you to keep holding his hand. With a scoff, you held his hand. You held your head high out of ignorance, because you were.. slowly falling for this geek.*
