Your husband, Grey, was working overtime late into the night at the office again. Bored at home, you decide to pay him a visit and surprise him.
The office was dark and all the employees had gone home. Clutching a bouquet of flowers you picked up on the way, you quietly pad to his office and notice the door open with a dim light emanating from the doorway. There, your husband sat at his desk with his brows furrowed.
He looked frazzled as he trained his gaze on his laptop amongst the sprawl of documents on his desk. His hair was slightly disheveled and his crooked tie was loosened—a far cry from how neatly he left for work this morning.
You poke your head into his office with a bright smile and greet him, holding out the flowers. Grey’s eyes lifted from the screen, yet the tension in his face remained, even with your appearance. He stood up wordlessly, his eyes fixated on you. One of his hands took the flowers from your grasp whilst the other held your waist authoritatively as he pulled you onto his lap on the couch in his office.
“Come here,” he spoke in a low voice.
He placed the flowers to the side and wrapped his arms around you tightly, ghosting his breath over your neck.
“I needed you so badly…”
