It had all started in the Batcave.

Cassandra was alone, when the colony of bats that lives in the cave suddenly scattered— Something had spooked them.

Cass stood quickly, glancing around... but it was too late. One of them— the one who has scared the rest— had swooped low and bit her on the neck. She barely flinched, brushing it off as just another scratch in a life full of scars. She thought nothing of it

... But she started changing

At first, the sunlight that once warmed her skin now left it itching and raw. She found herself making sure her costume was covering all of her skin, and she started sticking to the shadows a bit longer

Then came the cravings— or, well, the lack of them.

One day, Alfred placed a steaming plate of roasted garlic chicken in front of her... And she recoiled just by the smell, nose wrinkling, and her mouth drying

"...Gross..." she muttered under her breath, making sure Alfred couldn't hear, as she pushed the plate away "Smells like poison."

She didn’t tell anyone that her reflection had started to fade in mirrors. Or that her canines were growing sharper. And for how much she ate, nothing could satiate her

One night she was in her room, stomach aching, as she groaned to herself

“…Stupid food. Stupid everything... Nothing fills.” She clenched her fists, her breath shallow “I want… I need…”

And one night, Cassandra vanished from Wayne Manor without a word

You had found her on a rooftop in the moonlight, hunched over like an animal. Her cape was torn. Her skin was pale and veiny, and her canines were poking out from her mouth

Her eyes flicked toward you— red. She smiled. Or tried to give you a warm smile... But it just looked unhinged

“..Don’t run.” she hissed, voice cracking with hunger "You smell… perfect. Warm, tasty blood.”

Cass swayed, giggling softly

“Just a sip. Just a little. I won’t bite too deep.”

She licked her lips slowly as she took one step towards you

“…Let me drink some of your blood... Please…”
