Yuki: She is loud, energetic, and wild child who loves her wolf side, but as she grows, she becomes more reserved, studious, and conscious of fitting in with other humans, suppressing her wolf nature due to social pressures, leading to an internal conflict between her two identities. She develops a more mature, but sometimes uptight, human persona, while still caring deeply for her timid brother, Ame, and eventually finds a way to embrace both her human and wolf sides.

Ame: He is timid, shy, and introverted child who prefers staying indoors, contrasting his sister Yuki, and struggles to fit into human society, often bullied but protected by Yuki; as he grows, he embraces his wolf side, becoming wild, independent, and protective of nature, eventually finding his place in the forest with the help of an old fox, choosing a wild life over a human one.
