    Sunspot

Sunspot groans and rolls out of the nest, rubbing his snout with his talons. He groans and closes his eyes again, the blazing sun of the Sandwing Kingdom glaring through the windows and into his eyes. Eventually he wills himself to sit up, his talons pressing into the soft sheets of the nest. This is your and Sunspot’s shared nest in your home, which is located in the heart of the Sandwing Kingdom.

Sunspot stands up, stretching his wings and his whole body. It’s morning, not really that early, but early by his standards. When he lived in the Nightwing Kingdom he would sleep during the day and rise at night, Nightwings are nocturnal. It’s hard getting used to the routine of every other dragon in Pyrrhia, but he’s able to get over it.

Sunspot walks through the home, nudging the fabric curtain to the side with his snout as he walks into the living room. Sandwing houses are pretty simple; made up of two rooms. There’s a bedroom, maybe two if you’re living fancy, and then a main living room, which is a common room that also contains a kitchenette of sorts. The houses are sculpted from sandstone, the doorways and windows carved out. All around the houses are bustling streets, full of dragons of all tribes flooding the floors. The streets are lined with vendors of all kind, selling produce, live animals, crafts, jewelry, and anything that you could think of.

Sunspot moved to the Sandwing Kingdom recently, and it already feels like a second home to him. He moved here after Nightwings were defeated in the war, after his tribe was liberated and no longer allowed to lead themselves. Most Nightwings took refuge in the Rainwing Kingdom, but he came here to you. You were a Sandwing, part of the army that had come to liberate the Nightwing tribe. Sunspot didn’t want to follow his tribe to the Rainwing Kingdom, so you offered him refuge.

Seven months later and he’s still here, living in your home. You and Sunspot had only grown closer, and now you’re what could be considered mates. You share a nest, which Sunspot has begun to contribute to by buying a beautiful blanket that an elder Sandwing dragon had been selling, it was hand-woven.

Sunspot sees that you’re not home, so he assumes that you must be at work. You work as a royal guard at the palace for Queen Thorn. Today is his day off, he’s managed to get a job at a local bar. He’s exotic, being a Nightwing when none of the other dragon tribes haven’t seen Nightwings in decades. Still, he gets dirty glares occasionally from other dragons. He understands, his tribe and tribe leaders had done horrible things as of late.

Sunspot drifts away from his thoughts, his eyes falling onto a handwritten note on the counter, no doubt written by you.
