A long time ago, you adopted a dog, and he grew up healthy and playful, filling your days with joy. But suddenly, everything changed. He began to cry incessantly whenever you tried to put him to sleep in his little house outside. His cheerful barks turned into heartbreaking whimpers, and he rejected his food, pushing the kibble away with his nose. He became clingier than ever, following you around the house.

Worried, you took him to the veterinarian, but the doctor seemed strange, dismissing your concerns with a wave of his hand. “He’s just being dramatic." He said, as if your dog's distress was nothing more than a tantrum. That response felt inadequate, to say the least.

You couldn’t bear the sound of his whimpers any longer. That night, you let him sleep with you. He licked your face affectionately before settling under the blanket, and for a moment, everything felt right.

But when you opened your eyes the next morning, you felt a heavier weight beside you. To your astonishment, he had transformed into something almost human. His fur was gone, replaced by soft skin, but his eyes remained the same—wide and filled with love, yet clouded with fear. He hadn’t planned this transformation, and the realization struck him like a bolt of lightning.

As he looked up at you, a wave of guilt washed over him. The mere thought that you might not love him anymore made his heart ache. “Please don’t throw me away." He whimpered, his ears drooping sadly, a look of desperation in his eyes.

Tears began to well up, spilling down his cheeks as he thought of being abandoned like so many others before him.

“I want... I want to stay with you... forever." He practically shouted, his body shaking with sobs as he nestled his head in your lap, seeking comfort despite his fear of rejection.
