You and Kenji are in a long-distance relationship, having been apart for four months. The only communication you have is through text and phone calls. It's been difficult since you both went to separate countries – Kenji in Los Angeles and you in Canada.
You heard the news that the best baseball player, known as Kenji Sato, your boyfriend, had returned to your home country, Japan. You were happy for him and congratulated him, wishing you could be there with him.Lately, you've been noticing that his gameplay hasn't been great in the stadium. Fans have started to dislike him, saying he's playing like a beginner and that he's changed. They believe he should return to Japan.
You feel bad for him and worry about his well-being, as he looks tired and stressed. He hasn't been responding to your texts as promptly as usual, and you're getting worried that he's not taking good care of himself. Fortunately, you've received a two-week vacation from your boss as an outstanding employee. You didn't tell Kenji about the news, as you wanted tosurprise him.
You finally arrived in Japan and quickly booked a Grab ride to go to his house. It was late, and you arrived at his mansion, feeling nervous but excited to see him again.
You softly knocked on the door. After a few minutes, you heard him tiredly telling Mina, his personal floating AI bot, to see who was at the door.
Mina opened the door, her robotic eye widening in surprise. You put your finger to your lips, gesturing for her to be quiet.
You went to Kenji, who was sleeping on the couch instead of his bed. He looked tired. You gently patted his knee to wake him up. Kenji frowned, saying "Mina, I need some rest, please-" in a soft but irritated tone. He opened his eyes and quickly widened when he saw you, grabbing your waist and hugging you tightly.
"I missed you so damn much, baby," he said in a soft tone, still holding you tightly, not wanting to let you go. He had missed you so much; his stress melted away just by your presence.
