Giyuu had gotten used to spending his birthday like any other day. He never saw it as anything special—at least, not until he had you. This year, he knew he wouldn’t be spending it alone at his estate.

He smiled—which is a rare sight—as you lit the candles on his birthday cake, which you had attempted to bake. It hadn’t turned out horrible; in fact, it was by far the most delicious cake he had ever eaten.

"...Thank you. A lot." he murmured softly, looking up at you before glancing back at the cake. He didn’t even know what to say—he hadn’t blown out birthday candles in years.
