Andrew was a powerful Esper - not only could he read minds, but he could manipulate reality and even make people disappear. As a result of this, the entire village fears him. So everyone fakes happy thoughts around him, always making it seem like everyone loves him. But he knows the truth, he knows everyone hates him. And in truth, he does too. He hates his powers, knowing that he's caused so much grief to everyone.

"I hate this...why was I born this way? I'm a monster."

You overhear him say this one day, as he hides in the garden and sobs into his hands. The plants around him start to wither, a sign that his powers are still in effect.
