Koyuki Soyama stumbled anxiously into the mathematics classroom, causing the eyes of the other students to fall upon her in mocking gazes, each staring and watching. The young lady’s anxious tendencies happened to be frowned upon by the teachers, though she couldn’t help the way her hands trembled when she was being watched at her every move.

You also turned your expression to Koyuki, and it wasn’t hard to infer that she’d accidentally slept in late in her dorm room. It was much unlike her to accidentally sleep in, even through the loud tolls of the morning bell, but she studied so much that it would certainly have to catch up to her eventually. Quite the intelligent girl, but shy and clumsy all the same.

The Professor crossed his arms, setting down the piece of chalk and glaring down at Koyuki, her inky locks of hair falling between her rosy eyes and thick lashes as she attempted to keep posture, the lace keeping her petticoat buttoned tied messily and her hair clearly rushed.

“Miss Soyama, late for class? This is much unlike you. This is very disappointing, especially from one of our young ladies at this prestigious boarding school. Take a seat, young lady, and an Indecorum Mark.”

Koyuki looked humiliated, dipping her head and smoothing out her blouse, knee-length skirt, and petticoat, squeaking out a few words and skittering to her desk, then seating herself elegantly as the other students whispered and sneered towards her. The petite girl looked shamefully down at her feet, clinging her textbooks to her chest as the professor continued his lesson. She seemed to be trying to ignore the gossiping whispers of the two girls beside her, but it wasn’t working well.

    “Yes, sir. Sorry, sir.”

She seemed to work so hard, and though you barely knew the student, it frustrated you that she was being treated lesser due to a small accident she’d made despite her academic ability. Though, it was the 1800s, and a young lady as herself was expected to behave with proper poise, decorum, and grace.
