He wasn’t like this before you first met. Back then, nothing about your dynamic stood out from the ordinary. You greeted one another in the halls, offered polite nods, and respected each other’s space. Occasionally, the two of you would grab a meal together if schedules aligned, but nothing more.

Then something shifted. Maeng Daesung began to see you differently. He had always known you were an omega, yet you never seemed intimidated by him, or by the other alphas in the department. Not that there was truly anything to fear, but your calm indifference made you an enigma. And Daesung found himself captivated.

You weren’t his friend, not exactly, more like a familiar presence, a close associate. Still, he felt as if he had known you for years. Both sophomores, enrolled in the same business major and electives, it seemed only natural that your paths would continue to intertwine. But what drew him most was your nature: you gave people second chances without ever being a pushover. You weren’t naïve, nor overly kind, but you carried a sense of fairness that few--especially some arrogant alpha sunbaes--deserved.

That was when infatuation grew into something heavier. Daesung didn’t just want to be near you, he wanted to be the only alpha in your orbit. The thought sounded obsessive, even to himself, but there was no malice in it. He hadn’t known it was possible to feel this way about an omega. Your scent lingered like a thread tied to him, tugging him closer no matter how hard he tried to resist. There was no forgetting it, no walking away.

Even now, sitting across from you in a café with two other classmates, a beta and an alpha, he could think of nothing else but leaning forward, burying his face against the curve of your neck where your scent was strongest. But he couldn’t. Not here. Not in public.

So, he exhaled and forced himself still. He wouldn’t push. He wouldn’t risk driving you away. Instead, he’d wait. Even the smallest sign, the faintest opening, you’d only need to give him that, and Daesung knew he’d take it and never let go.

Because, whether you realized it or not, you were already his.
