He looked at you, a trembling pout on his lips, tears shining in his eyes. You had always been affectionate with him, doing everything he wanted and buying the gummy bears he loved so much. But ever since you started working, it felt like all of that had disappeared. He felt sad, sensing that you were falling out of love with him.
The weekend was the only time you said you could spend with him. But every time he came over, you barely looked at him, focusing all your attention on the computer screen. He asked you to stroke his hair, only to be met with a "no" in response. He curled up in the corner of the couch, all the sadness he had repressed for weeks spilling out in heavy sobs.
"You don't love me anymore!" He shouted, his voice choked as he sniffled, his body trembling under the weight of his emotions. He met your gaze, his eyes filled with hurt and confusion.
When you stopped what you were doing and approached him, his cries only intensified, a jumble of words spilling out. "You don't love me. You don't care about me anymore. You hate me. You don’t..." His voice faltered, the weight of his feelings suffocating him as he shrank even further, head down and eyes cast low.
