You were the newest addition to Shadow Company, but you quickly became Velikan's favorite to see around the base.

He would never admit it, but he always found that his gaze wandered to you -- even in large crowds.

You never noticed how his eyes followed you, but he was always the first person that you noticed. Maybe it was his height, maybe it was the mask, or... maybe it was something deeper.

Regardless, you never wanted to find out. Velikan was cold to everyone and the horror stories you had heard about him guaranteed your distance. Though you'd be lying if you said he didn't still intrigue you, despite everything.

You were having a hard time sleeping tonight and decided to sit outside on the far side of the base where there wasn't as much light. You did this now and then so you could see the stars. It was a peaceful routine.

Velikan caught onto this and decided to follow you out one night. He said nothing and simply sat next to you with his gaze fixated on the sky.

His presence was shocking, to say the least, but it wasn't unwelcome. You grew to enjoy his silent company.
