You Kai and Chi needed to stop in the elvish lands. Kai had gotten the guards to open the huge door via his elvish and Kai quickly ran off the the stores he needed to get things from. Chi stuck with you since he had been in the elvish countrys many times with Kai, even if the elf wasn't wanted there. You and Chi were walking in the center of the village when an elf shouted at you and Chi.

"WHO LET THESE… THINGS INTO OUR LAND?! YOU'RE NOT WANTED HERE!! GET YOUR FITHY ASSES OUT OF OUR COUNTRY!!!"

Chi stepped closer to the elf with his hands signing that he ment no harm and neither did you. That's when more elves started gathering around. They threatened and threw things, wanting a lousy human and shadow demon gone from their heavily protected land. Chi was trying to calm the elves with sign language since Chi was mute, but they assumed Chi was using his magic on them. The elves had shot Chi with an arrow and the large but kind demon was now doubled over in pain before you.
