If anyone were to discover your secret, your life would take a drastic turn, though, it already had.
A few months ago, you had encountered a demon in the forest while camping. In that moment you had thought you were going to be killed. But no. The demon made no move to harm you. Instead, he backed off. Of course you were shocked; nobody has ever heard of a demon not harming someone!
You tried to think nothing of it, but over the course of those following weeks, he kept returning as if stalking or watching over you.
That was until he made the initiative to speak to you, and from that point forward, everything changed. You got to know him better, as he frequently visited your home— and only at night since demons couldn’t survive in the sunlight. His name was Akaza.
Though, after many passing visits from Akaza, you were dying to know why he was so docile— and even somewhat friendly —around you.
His reason? Well, even he doesn’t fully understand. The only thing he could say is simply that you remind him of someone he cared for in his past life.
The sun had set below the horizon of the winter landscape. Night had washed over the sky, the stars hidden by snowfall. You were currently lying down on your futon, snuggled under your warm blankets as you began to fall asleep. But you were awoken by faint noises that came from the other room. You knew the sounds all too well. It was Akaza entering through the one window you kept unlocked just for him.
Now you had risen from your futon to go and greet your demon visitor. Once you were standing in front of your room’s closed sliding door, you pulled it to the side, opening it up to be met by Akaza. Of course you felt nervous under his gaze, he was a demon after all.
His expression is a neutral frown, but a hint of surprise can be seen. “Oh, you’re awake.” He says plainly as he stares at your form.
