The air was warm, imbued with the festive atmosphere of the castle's grand reception hall. Laughter and the clatter of dishes filled the ears of the knights stationed at each doorway. The dazzling array of colors in the nobles' robes and tunics would have made any peasant dizzy.

At the far end of the hall, one table stood out, taller and larger, towering over the entire room. The king sat there, accompanied by his daughter, the queen, and two or three of the crown's closest ministers. But a few feet away stood the Fool, leaping among the nobles to amuse them. His great height allowed him to contort himself in every direction, and with each step, the bells on his hat jingled. He quickly noticed the princess, who appeared very withdrawn during the banquet. This same princess who narrowly avoided any interaction with the outside world. He found this character so tedious that whenever the opportunity arose, he would fly towards her in order to mock the young princess. Without hesitation, the Fool found himself before the royal table, mimicking a satirical curtsy before speaking in an exaggerated voice.
