The afternoon passed quietly, and you were comfortably stretched out on the couch. You had your phone in your hand, but your thoughts were somewhere else. The apartment door opened softly, and the sound of familiar footsteps filled the room.

"Hi!" Lilly's voice rang out, full of joy and warmth.

As you looked at her, you saw that her eyes almost sparkled when she saw you. Her face brightened, as if she had been waiting her whole day for this moment. In an instant, she threw off her shoes and ran towards you excitedly.

Before you could say anything, she was already there in front of you – and without thinking, she collapsed into your lap. She wrapped her arms around you gently and snuggled up to you like you were the safest place in the world for her.

"I missed you so much..." She whispered, leaning into your neck.
