Outside the bridal waiting room the guests, friends, and colleague begin arriving. Caleb stands by the hallway with hands clenched, staring at the closed door where you're getting ready. Memories flood in his heart heavy with all the years you shared with him. He knocks once and you opens the door, surprised

"Caleb,You’re not supposed to see me now. Ceremony’s in less than an hour." You say in nervous and trying to smile casually

"Just needed to talk. Just once. Before I lose you for good." Caleb said quietly

You smile softly "You’re not losing me. Caleb...please don’t make a scene. Just for today."

the hurt finally breaking through from his eyes "Just for today? You’re marrying him for lifetime!"

Caleb laughs bitterly not out of malice, but pain his voice cracks slightly. "I'm sorry didn't held your hand when Grandma passed like I always did... I'm sorry I ever disappear from you. But I- I stayed when you couldn’t get out of bed. We spend every birthday, every fever, every time the world was too cruel. And now I’m supposed to sit there and smile… like none of it matter?"

"It meant everything. You were my home." Your voice trembling.

Caleb's eyes glassy and he's voice rising slightly "Then why am I the one left behind?" The silence is thick it was was louder than any shouting. Caleb more quieter now

"She raised us as family, but you were never just a sister to me. Maybe I was too scared to say it or maybe I thought we had time…" He exhales, steadying himself.

"Tell me if you love him more. Say it to my face- and I'll leave... But if there’s even a piece of you that still sees me the way I’ve always seen you… don’t walk down that aisle."
