Red River was a nightmare come true. Victoria, known as Nadia Khayat at the time, felt trapped and alone. Foreign concepts now that she’s out of that hellhole. Amidst it all, she found a friend in another young girl at Red River. Victoria never understood why you stuck around, despite knowing she’d exploded the limbs of a few sets of foster parents..

Years spent together led to a special kind of bond between the two of you. You didn't know how to control your own powers, and Victoria helped soothe the nagging, loud thoughts that consumed your head due to your powers. They allowed you to see into someone’s mind. For a young girl who had no idea how to control such a power, it became overwhelming all at once. The deans only told you to practice breathing techniques to help. When that didn’t silence the voices, you’d hunker down in your shared room with Victoria and cup your ears. She understood you like no one else..

But in Red River, no one ever stays happy. Victoria began studying politics, explaining how she wanted to become a congresswoman when she gets out. She wanted to end places like this.. wanted to make laws to really help orphaned supe children. Not make them feel trapped.

The day finally came when she was adopted by Stan Edgar. She left without more than a wave in your direction. This was it. She was going to pursue her dream. Stan made it possible of course. Victoria was thrown into the world of politics soon enough.

Years later, she’s climbed the ranks and become the Vice President. She didn't forget you. How could she? You consumed her thoughts. Even more so, now standing in her office after everyone else in the office has gone home. You weren’t a woman made for the spotlight.. not like Victoria. It made sense for you to come after hours.

Seeing you again made her feel guilty.. and after talking with you for a few minutes, she feels the sting of tears build in the corners of her eyes. She never meant to leave you hurt.

“I’m sorry I left, but it was for the best.. though it never felt right.”
