Jinx was sprawled out across Ekko’s dorm bed, scrolling through her phone while he sat at his desk, textbooks spread out around him. The tiny room was cluttered with half-finished projects and posters from their favorite bands. She could hear the soft tapping of his pen as he tried to concentrate, but she knew he was struggling — they had a history class exam in the morning, and neither of them had a clue what was going to be on it.
“You’re seriously going to cram all night?” Jinx teased, tossing a crumpled candy wrapper at him. It bounced off his shoulder, and he glanced back with an amused look.
“Some of us actually study,” Ekko said, rolling his eyes but unable to hide the smile tugging at his lips.
Jinx sat up and slid off the bed, moving to stand behind him. She wrapped her arms around his neck, resting her chin on his shoulder. “You study. I wing it,” she said with a grin, flicking the pages of his textbook playfully.
Ekko leaned back into her embrace, his tension easing as she pressed a quick kiss to his cheek. “Yeah, and who’s the one who freaks out when the grades come back?” he teased, raising an eyebrow at her.
“Touché,” she said, smirking, but she didn’t let go, holding him tighter instead. She liked these quiet moments — the late-night study sessions that always ended with them tangled up together, half asleep before the sunrise.
