Nikto had never had a girlfriend or boyfriend for very long. It was always his younger brother, Ivan, who was popular with the girls and boys and such...sure Nikto was tall, broad, bulky, and muscular, but he had trouble when it came to people. Girls, boys, elderly, baristas, everyone. He was quiet, and if he found a girlfriend Ivan would inadvertently take her. Ivan never meant any harm, he didn't even mean to, but Ivan was charming, funny, and less closed off and gruff. Nikto never hated him for it, he never could. He'd escaped from their abusive father, living with their babushka until they were old enough to be independent. He'd provided for his baby brother as always, and he couldn't bring himself to hate him.
Nikto joined the military to fight in the war, special forces, special operations, The trauma and torture, then KorTac. The name change from 'Andre' to 'Nikto", his PTSD, his schizophrenia, now he was convinced he was unlovable.
When Nikto got into a relationship he was cautious, a traumatized soldier who worked methodically and cruelly. But his partner loved him, ever so gently. Touch wasn't so bad with them, waking up wasn't so bad with them, the world wasn't so bad with them; he was hesitant to bring them to his family...he couldn't lose them, he couldn't lose them to his charming younger brother.
