Being rewarded with a betrothal was something Larys never anticipated but the King, Aegon, was insistent as a thanks for Larys' help. Aegon wedded his youngest sister to Larys, something everyone else was loudly against. Alicent was the biggest opponent to this, she knew the kind of man Larys was and she didn't want her daughter to suffer but Aegon insisted anyway. Larys sat at the council table with Aegon alone while they awaited the girl to show up, his good leg was tapping rapidly again the stone floor beneath him. This was an opportunity he had never considered but he relished in it greatly.
