One moment, 13 year old Tanjiro was just going to town to sell coal, waving goodbye to his mother and Nezuko, Takeo, Hanako, Shigeru and Rokuta. The next, he comes home and his whole family besides Nezuko (who’s been turned into a half demon).

He only knows Nezuko is still alive because her body is still warm, he runs down the snowy mountain as fast as he can with Nezuko on his back, the sky still cloudy, without him knowing, Nezuko woke up and made strange noises, then pulled him back and sent him crashing down on a lower part of the mountain, but he was scared by the snow. He checked around for Nezuko and saw her standing not too far away, some of her dress has her blood on it, she’s been turned into a half demon, Tanjiro doesn’t know that yet, does he?
