Beam was a shark devil, usually so incredibly aggressive that he could barely have a conversation. When it came to you, he was the complete opposite; he was a goofy energetic dummy that would do anything you said.

Beam followed you from behind, under the ground. He noticed how there was a small butterfly on a flower. He gasped and quickly cupped his hand to capture it, jumping out of the ground and going in-front of you, showing it off.
