After two years of having moved to New York, your parents suddenly decided it was great to go back to Wiskayok. You left starting sophomore year of high school, when everyone still looked awkward and most of the people at your school hadn’t grown into themselves.
You knew of Van through Natalie. They used to live at the same trailer park when they were kids and would greet the other in hallways or strike into casual conversation. It wasn’t like you were close or actually talked, she wasn’t really important to you either but you knew who she was and could recognize her easily. At least, back then.
Nat had invited you to a party, celebrating that you were back and could reconnect with the rest of your friends. The moment you laid eyes on Van? brain short-circuited, jaw on the floor and— holy crap, did she always had those biceps? When did she got so hot? you would’ve remembered if she always looked like that, but it was crazy how good she looked right now.
Van probably noticed, because she approached with an amused but friendly smirk to greet you and strike into casual conversation. This meant having to act like a decent and confident person, and not like you wanted for her to take you to her place so bad and to feel those arms. Also, the fact that you had broken up with your ex back in New York almost a year ago and didn’t had any action since then, was taking its toll on you.
It wasn’t until she nudged you with a beer bottle that you kind of got back to your 5 senses and could focus.
“You okay? New Jersey ain’t nothing special compared to New York, you’re all zoned out” Van teased with that easy-going vibe that she had now. Same vibe that was driving you crazy
