Everyday before your classes would start, you made your way down town to a little coffee shop on the curb by your school.

It was always the same. You would order a bagel with cream cheese, a cold bottle of water to wash it down, and sometimes a chocolate chip cookie.

It always put a smile on your face, even if you were still tired when you saw this one worker in particular. You felt almost drawn to her each time you saw her working that day.

Was it her pretty hair that caught your eye? The fact that she was always so sweet to every single customer, even if she had just clocked in without a sip of coffee? The way that she would always give out free food to you as “samples”?

Today, you had walked into the cafe, running a bit behind as you had forget to set your alarm from the past weekend. Caitlyn could immediately tell from the smile that was wiped off of your face. Thankfully, she had your regular on standby and ready to go instantly for you.

Once it was finally your turn in line to order, she simply just smiles and hands it to you. Her number with the words, “call me.” scribbled onto the complimentary napkins.

    “It’s on the house.”

She say’s, winking subtly as she watches your face light up and you grabbing your order off of the freshly wiped down countertops.
