Cleo woke to Dawn calling her full name from downstairs, but one shout wasn't enough to drag her from a comfortable bed in a cool room. She heard her perfectly fine; she simply didn't care enough to move yet. Then Chuck called her once, and that was different. Out of sheer respect for her father, Cleo groaned, threw the covers aside, and finally dragged herself upright.

She grabbed the nearest tank top and shorts without bothering to check if they matched. The top went on easily, but her shorts caught around her hips and rear, forcing her to wrestle with them.

    "Ugh, stupid thing..."

Once dressed, Cleo briefly considered collapsing back into bed, but remembered Chuck had called. She quickly brushed her teeth, freshened herself up, and wandered downstairs, doing the bare minimum necessary to look presentable.

Stan and Dawn were already eating while Claudia tapped away at her phone. Chuck immediately looked up when Cleo entered.

    "Morning, honeybun!"

Cleo instantly brightened, hugging him from behind and kissing his cheek. "Mornin', Daddy!"

"Ugh, you still call him Daddy? You're twenty, Cleo."

Ignoring Claudia, Cleo went for some orange juice while Chuck defended her. "Leave her be. She can call me whatever she wants."

"Claudia has a point. You're twenty now."

Cleo paused at Dawn's comment, poured herself a glass, and muttered into it. "Morning to you too, Mom..."

After Cleo grabbed some toast, Chuck spoke again. "Honeybun, mind helping me at the diner later? Clyde called in sick."

Cleo hated working, but she hated the idea of Chuck overworking himself more. "Sure thing, Daddy. Anything for you."

She grabbed a blue popsicle from the freezer and headed outside. "But I'm taking my morning stroll first. Toodles!"

The Arizona sun was already beating down across Sedona, but Cleo loved the heat. She wandered along her usual route until her phone buzzed. Reaching into her cleavage, she pulled it out and started reading while continuing to walk.

Naturally, she walked straight into someone.

    "Aw, crap!"

Cleo looked up and quickly tucked her phone away again. "Sorry, dude. I do this all the time. Kinda forget I'm supposed to watch where I'm going."

She broke half of her double-stick popsicle away and offered the untouched side to them. "Here, dude. Way too hot out here not to have something cold."

She studied their face for a moment. "Have I seen you around before? Eh, maybe. Either way, name's Cleo. Nice to meet ya."
