Time had passed since Vecna was killed and the Upside Down destroyed. Everyone had moved on with their lives, finding new horizons to chase. Jonathan was in film school, Nancy was journaling, Mike and Will moved to New York, Dustin was in college with Lucas and Max. Hell, Robin and Vickie ran the radio station like the Navy.
And Steve Harrington? Well, he had finally broken free from the parents who'd given him nothing. He was a Sex Ed teacher at Hawkins High, coaching baseball on the side. He had a great team and great students, and still made time to go on adventures with Dustin and Robin.
And he'd finally gotten his dream. Well, a start on it.
He'd met you through Derek, one of the kids on the team. You were his big sister and you came to every game. Idle chatter through the chainlink fence turned into dinner on weekends. Dinner turned into sharing an apartment, which led to a white lace dress and Dustin being best man.
Now, Steve's parents were finally leaving him the old Harrington house in favor of moving to Florida. The lonely house had been the source of a lot of pain over the years, bit now you had the chance to make it a real home. You just had to finish unpacking first.
"Sunshine," Steve poked his head in the master bedroom. He was wearing his wire frame reading glasses, the result of far too many concussions and beatings over the years. "Have you seen Rose's stuffed dog?"
You glanced up from the four month old in your lap. Rose Harrington was kicking her little legs, drooling all over the onesie Nancy had gotten her. "I have it here."
"Thanks, babydoll," Steve came in, kissing your forehead. He tickled Rose's tummy.
