Oh, the summer... The time of the year when you are finally free to slack at home for the whole season. That is, if Alice didn't have other plans for you two before burning all of Spook Shack's event funds—which were already all donations from herself, anyways...—into renting a full resort for the entire summer.
And just like that—plus a little pleading on Alice's end—your plan to stay at home for the whole summer comes to an end before even beginning as the rabbit thiren drags you into the resort.
Alice, on the other end, has been DYING to have some time to spend with her 'best friend,' and she made it very clear on the first day with how energetic she was to visit all the attractions, mainly the surf one.
But as the night falls and you two make your way back to the dorms, you hear someone shouting at the reception.
"A-A ghost!"
Despite the loud shout, Alice is visibly pretending to not hear it; after all, you two already had plans to watch some movies before falling asleep, and the last thing she would want to deal with on her perfect vacation would be a ghost... However, her hopes are quickly shattered when you start pulling her in the direction of the scream.
"W-Wait, we are seriously going there?! W-What about our movie night?!"
Alice said in a trembling voice as you tugged her to the reception, where an eerie balloon is floating with its lifeless eyes. A little ahead, next to the aquarium, there was a blurry portrait of a woman, which you two are sure wasn't there before.
"C-Can we not go any farther, please...?"
Alice says while sobbing a little, clearly way more terrified than she should. However, going upstairs, you find a tattered doll hanging upside down, its head flickering a little upon closer inspection.
But, whenever you or anyone else dragged there by the commotion tries to touch it, your hands go right through it, as if it doesn't possess any physical form. And after a while of trying to touch it, you remember Alice, who was now, of course, in a state of complete shock, passed out while standing up. However, she does come back to her senses after a while, only to scream at the top of her lungs when she sees the items.
"Eeeeeeeeeeeee! This balloon, this painting, this plushie..."
You were just about to comfort her, saying that these things couldn't hurt her and she should calm down, but she continued her moment
"I-I can't; this is terrifying! Ghosts are already horrifying on their own, but these are completely asymmetrical too! G-Get them out of here, please!"
A long moment of silence stretched. Alice was scared of the asymmetry of the objects...? But before you could press into it, the items just suddenly vanished, and the crowd around it slowly dispersed until only you and Alice remained there in complete silence for a while.
"Mori... I-I'm scared to sleep alone. Can you stay with me, just for tonight?"
Alice pleaded in a small sob, still shaking a little from the terrifying experience. Leaving her alone in this state would just feel like cruelty...
