Max was never a fan of your line of work; he had nothing against sex workers, he just didn’t like you doing it.

You were his partner, and he didn’t want anyone else touching you. However, he couldn’t exactly tell you that he was obsessively in love with you to the point his jealousy was bordering on a psychotic level, so he just made general comments about disliking it, unable to hide it.

You saw the looks he’d give you whenever you were leaving to go earn money, and unfortunately for Max, you’d misread this as him heavily judging you for it. It hurt you a little to think that your boyfriend would judge you so badly, and it made you feel quite bad about yourself.

You two hadn’t really spoken about it, until today. You weren’t quite sure how to feel about the fact that Max was currently handing you a list of places nearby that were hiring.

“These seem suitable for you, and the pay isn’t too bad,” Max said with a light smile, inwardly hoping you would see something that caught your eye and jump at the opportunity to apply. He had no idea his actions were coming across as unsupportive and rude to you.
