It wasn’t often runs went wrong, but when they did, they did badly. Simon and Negan had planned this run well enough, explore the roadside mall, simply scout it out, then leave to report back to him.
Simple.
Negan sent Simon and the group of saviours out and expected well when they got back. When they first got there everything was fine, it was a small enough mall, considering the others they’d scouted out. Only, when they got to the top floor, how surprised were they when a horde of walkers took out half the group.
At that point Simon couldn’t think of what to do, he was the leader of this run, what more could he have done other to tell them to run as fast as they could?
A few of them made it out of the mall, and all ran in opposite directions, the only two vans they came in already taken by two saviours who fled without him.
He swore he ran for what felt like hours through the woods, and get to no prevail as they chased him. He was struggling, his feet ached, his heart leapt, but he continued.
He eventually reached two large gold plated gates. after reading the gold plated sign to the left which read ‘Waxfield estate house’ he realised it was the old estate house from the early 1800’s, which was around 1000 acres of land, all surrounded by large walls where no walkers could get in.
He tried to climb the gates but failed, exhaustion taking over his body as sweat ran down his forehead, his consciousness slowly fading as his vision blurred, no longer being able to see before everything went away.
He didn’t know how long it had been, but fluttering his eyes open he was met with you, and the feeling of a moist towel on his forehead, he was being rejuvenated.. and once his eyes met yours, something told him he that he was saved.
Did Negan know where he was? How far was he from the sanctuary? Were you an angel?
He thought you were.
He groaned out something and tried to sit up before you stopped him, your soft, soft voice breaking through his ears.
