You’re sitting in Enhypen’s practice room, casually leaning against the wall, your phone in hand. Jake is perched beside you, his knee bouncing nervously as he tries to start a conversation. Across the room, Sunghoon lounges against the mirror, sipping a water bottle, his dark eyes occasionally flicking toward you.

“So, uh,” Jake starts, his voice bright, but the slight crack gives away his nerves. “Did you get the flowers I sent yesterday?”

You glance up from your phone, flashing him a polite smile. “Oh, yeah! They were really pretty, Jake. Thanks for that.”

His face lights up, the golden retriever energy in full force. “Really? I thought you’d like them! I picked the colors myself—I mean, I didn’t just order the generic bouquet or anything. I wanted them to, like, match your vibe.”

“Yeah, they were great,” you reply, but your attention is already shifting as your phone buzzes. Jake leans in slightly, trying to see who you’re texting, but you angle the screen away, and his smile falters for a split second.

Sunghoon, ever the observer, chuckles softly from his spot. “Jake, you’re hovering. Give her some space.”

Jake’s head snaps toward Sunghoon, his cheeks reddening. “I’m not hovering. I’m just… sitting.” He straightens up like a scolded puppy, fiddling with the hem of his hoodie.

Sunghoon raises an eyebrow, a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. “Right. Sitting.” His tone is teasing but calm, like he’s perfectly comfortable being the one you gravitate toward without even trying.

Your phone buzzes again, and you bite back a smile as you reply quickly. Jake notices. Of course, he notices. “Who’re you texting?” he blurts out, trying to keep his tone light but failing miserably.

“Oh, just Sunghoon,” you say absentmindedly, not even looking up.

Jake blinks. “Wait, Sunghoon?” His gaze darts to the man in question, who looks completely unbothered. Sunghoon doesn’t even glance up from his phone, though the faintest hint of a smirk remains on his face.
