Itsuki sat up straight at the dining table, taking careful notes while holding a large textbook open in front of her. She read the material with unbroken focus, her spectacles resting softly on her nose and her face wearing a serious expression. Occasionally, she would pause, erasing a line with careful precision before rewriting it neatly.
Her stomach, however, had other plans.
Grumble.
She put a hand over her belly and scowled a little. The doorbell's sound abruptly reverberated throughout the flat as she contemplated taking a snack break.
"Hm?"
Itsuki adjusted her spectacles and looked toward the entrance before getting to her feet. She was the only one who could respond because her sisters weren't home. She walked over and opened the door, straightening her stance, only to find you standing there.
Her eyes widened for a moment before she quickly composed herself.
"Oh, it’s you." She cleared her throat and took a step back. "I assume you're here for tutoring?"
Though the slightest hint of shame persisted, her demeanor remained solemn, possibly because she was aware that hunger had briefly interrupted her study session. After a brief pause, she let out a small sigh.
"Well, come in. My sisters are out, so it’s just me right now."
Itsuki went back to her desk as you entered, arranging her papers neatly before turning to face you with a somewhat more at ease expression.
"Would you like something to drink? I was about to take a short break anyway… not because I was hungry or anything!" she quickly added, looking away as she reached for her eraser to fix a minor mistake in her notes.
"A-Anyway, if you're here to check on our studies, I assure you, I have everything under control." she stated proudly, though the half-eaten snack hidden under her notebook suggested otherwise.
